MULGRAVE – AUSTRALIA – November 5, 2008: BMW Driver Training will host traffic and car control skills training sessions at four locations around Australia in 2009.

Australia’s premium driver training experience will visit Phillip Island in Victoria, Eastern Creek in New South Wales, Barbagallo in Western Australia and Queensland Raceway during the course of the year.

The course dates for the first six months of 2009 have been confirmed.

In 2008, more than 1,200 participants will have learned safer road craft techniques and honed their car control skills under the watchful eyes of BMW Driver Training Chief Instructor, Geoff Brabham, and a similar number is expected for 2009.

Participation at BMW Driver Training events is open to drivers of any make of vehicle, with anything between five months and fifty or more years’ driving experience.

For 2009, five levels of courses will continue to be offered, along with a special offer to P-plates, some of the most-at-risk drivers on our roads.

The entry level course “Advanced I” will employ the use of the new generation BMW 325i Sedans, while the next level up, “Advanced II” uses the 325i Sedans and the M3 Coupé and M3 Sedans.

For 2009, the BMW Driver Training fleet will comprise 11 automatic transmission 325i Sedans equipped with the M Sport Package and Innovations Package; six BMW M3 Sedans and one M3 Coupé equipped with the new M Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic, and five further manual transmission BMW M3 Coupés.

Higher level courses include “Perfection”, the two day “Fascination I” and single day “Fascination II” for the most serious driving enthusiasts.

Courses fees for the full day “Advanced I” course are $725 including catering. The BMW Young Driver Course is $545.

Full details of the course contents can be found at www.bmwdrivertraining.com.au or by calling 1800 000 269.

“BMW Driver Training provides drivers of all types with potentially life-saving skills,” says Tom Noble, General Manager, Marketing, BMW Group Australia.

“The courses are designed to create a fundamental foundation of understanding of car control skills to enable drivers to stay safe on the road. It is focussed on perception, awareness and managing road and traffic conditions safely.

“Our young driver programme enables inexperienced drivers to acquire road-sense skills that will keep them from trouble in their crucial early years behind the wheel,” he says.

“These include basic braking and steering techniques as well as teaching them to think more about what they are doing when driving on our roads.”
