CarMax Provides Advice on Receiving the Best Auto Finance Offer

RICHMOND, Va. October 27, 2008: Given the concern about the current credit environment, CarMax, Inc. , the nationā€™s largest retailer of used cars, says customers are interested in learning how to get the best finance terms for their vehicle purchase.

"While credit remains widely available for qualifying customers at CarMax, there are steps that can be taken now to ensure they get the best offer," said Angie Chattin, president of CarMax Auto Finance. Just like the CarMax buying experience, the CarMax finance process is unique. CarMax sales consultants do not receive a commission on the financing process and do not handoff customers to a commission-paid finance or sales manager. CarMax provides a completely transparent finance process and customers see the auto finance offer on the computer screen directly from the finance source. When multiple offers exist, customers may choose the offer that best suits their needs. CarMax also provides a three-day payoff option, which gives customers up to three business days to replace the auto financing with cash or an alternative finance source, free of penalty or interest.
