Zandvoort, Holland October 05, 2008 – TW Steel, the ‘Official Watch and Timing Partner of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport’, celebrated the opening round of the 2008-09 A1GP season at Circuit Park Zandvoort by crowning Miss Nancy Broersma as its first ‘Miss TW Steel Holland’.

Broersma, along with the 29 other ‘Miss TW Steel Holland’ entrants present on Sunday, faced an enthusiastic crowd of race fans hosted by Dutch racer Tim Coronel, a TW Steel Brand Ambassador, and a judging panel including TW Steel’s Managing Director, Jordy Cobelens, and 1991 IndyCar World Champion, Michael Andretti – his Andretti Green Racing squad now running A1 Team USA.

The 24-year-old from Arnhem is the first winner to secure her place in the ‘Miss TW Steel 2008-09’ final in Great Britain, at the season-closing A1GP event at Brands Hatch in May, where a $25,000 prize awaits the overall winner along with a professional photo-shoot for FHM Magazine.

“What a great way to start our relationship with the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport,” said Cobelens having also launched the TW Steel A1GP watches this weekend.

“The Miss TW Steel competition has proved to be extremely popular with the fans here at Zandvoort and it was fantastic to have Michael (Andretti) join us on the panel at his first A1GP event. Nancy (Broersma) will be a great ambassador as Miss TW Steel Holland and we look forward to seeing her again at the grand final in May. Congratulations also have to go to A1 Team Malaysia and A1 Team France for their successes on track today.”

A local ‘Miss TW Steel’ competition will be held at every round on the 2008-09 A1GP calendar visiting the likes of China, New Zealand, South Africa, Mexico and Great Britain.
