CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Sept. 22, 2008 - Zipcar, the world's largest provider of cars on demand by the hour or day, announced today that Philippe Bourguignon, international business leader and market visionary, will join Zipcar's Board of Directors, effective immediately.

Bourguignon recently served as the co-CEO of the World Economic Forum (The DAVOS Forum) and was instrumental in engaging world leaders in partnerships to shape global, regional and industry agendas. He was also previously Chairman and CEO of Club Mediterranee, the parent company of Club Med. Earlier, he served as Executive Vice President of Disney Europe, as well as the Chairman and CEO of Euro Disney. He currently holds two roles: Vice Chairman of Revolution Places and CEO of Revolution Places Development.

Bourguignon has had a long career working with businesses that recognize and pursue emerging market trends, take risks and ultimately define their industries, making him an excellent addition to the Zipcar Board. He joins the company at a time of unprecedented growth. Zipcar is averaging 10,000 new members per month -- triple the number joining at the same time last year.

"This is a remarkable time for Zipcar as it leads the creation of an exciting new market," said Philippe Bourguignon. "I look forward to providing insights from my experience with other game changing, consumer-centric businesses to enhance Zipcar's Board."

"Car sharing is a multi-billion dollar, high-growth business opportunity with immense potential among mainstream audiences," said Scott Griffith, chairman and CEO of Zipcar. "I am enthusiastic about Philippe joining our board and helping us to expand Zipcar's global leadership."

Bourguignon earned a masters degree in Economics from the University of Aix-en-Provence and holds a post-graduate diploma from the Institut d'Administration des Enterprises (IAE) in Paris. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the World Travel & Tourism Council.
