GMAC Encourages Hurricane Victims to Seek Help

DETROIT, Sept. 19, 2008 - GMAC Financial Services is prepared to help its automotive finance customers in the aftermath of Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.

GMAC Automotive Finance customers in affected areas of Texas, Louisiana and other states should call 1-800-200-GMAC to ask about assistance such as payment deferrals and late charge waivers.

In addition, GMAC has suspended collection activity in areas damaged by Hurricane Ike.

GMAC is reaching out to customers in the hardest hit areas, and is leaving personalized messages with toll free numbers for customers to call to discuss account arrangements.

GMAC is also working with its 63 dealership customers located in the nine-state disaster area. Special programs to assist these dealers with their accounts are available through their GMAC branch contacts.
