Shanghai, September 19, 2008 - (Gasgoo.com) Nissan Motor Co, Japan's third-largest automaker, said it has begun selling its luxury sport-utility vehicle today in the Chinese market, in a bid to grab a bigger slice of the nation's fast-growing luxury car market.

The Japanese carmaker will sell the Infiniti EX35 SUVs through its dealer networks with a price tag of 427,000 yuan ($62,482) and 647,000 yuan on different specifications, the Nissan's unit said at a launching ceremony held at 10:00 am this morning in Beijing.

"We have been taking China as the second largest luxury car market for Infiniti brand second only to North America, and thus the China business is crucial for Infiniti's global expansion," said Mr. Yukihisa Kayashima, President of Nissan (China) Investment Co, at the ceremony.

"Infiniti EX35 boasts unique contemporary design, exhilarating performance, modern luxury experience and premium quality, as well as its Total Ownership Experience customer care philosophy," said Yukihisa Kayashima, adding its AroundViewMonitor is an exclusive feature in the current Chinese auto market.

The Infiniti EX35 was first displayed at the 2008 Beijing auto show in April, and the automaker said the model for China sale mixes SUV and Crossover elements to meet the growing market demands for premium Crossover cars.

In July 2007, Infiniti FX45, FX35 and G35 cars were first introduced to the China market, followed by the Infiniti M35 luxury sport sedan in December. Their sales reached 1,550 units in 2007 and nearly 3,000 units in the first half of this year. And the new-comer Infiniti EX35 is likely to boost the Infiniti lineup sales further in China.
