LIPPSTADT – September 15, 2008: The lighting and electronics specialist Hella will be presenting innovations that benefit customers at this year's "automechanika" which will be held in Frankfurt from September 16-21, 2008. In addition to the booth in Hall 3.0, D91, Hella will also be represented in Hall 8.0, J58, for the first time this year.

One main focus of the company's presentation will be on the subject of "comprehensive garage competence". The new joint venture Hella Gutmann Solutions for vehicle diagnostic systems will be at the centre of attention. The aim of the joint venture is to provide technical problem solutions for vehicle diagnosis suitable for everyday garage use. This joint venture combines the competence of the company Gutmann Messtechnik GmbH in the field of vehicle diagnostic and service units with Hella's activities in the field of providing technical data for vehicle servicing on the independent parts aftermarket. The new joint venture company, which is based in Ihringen, is to go into operative business before the end of 2008.

In addition, Hella will be presenting current innovations from its wide and deep range of products from its four competence areas of lighting, electrics/electronics and thermal management in Frankfurt. The new generation of the auxiliary spotlight range "Luminator" with Xenon light will have its world premiere at the fair. With this series, Hella is once again setting a benchmark in lighting technology and design. A further convincing feature of this new generation is the first Xenon ballast to be integrated in the headlight housing.

Hella is offering optimum support for everyday garage work with two new cordless LED torches. They combine the advantages of LEDs - powerful, long service life, economical - with the flexibility of an integrated power source without a cable getting in the way, and guarantee top illumination for quick visual inspections or repairs.

Another new product is the beamsetter SEG IV-C. The "C" in the name stands for a mini camera that records the light image of the headlight beam, which is then evaluated by micro-processor and software. The actual position of the headlight then appears on the display as a thick black line. Next, the specialist uses the setting screws to align the headlight until the correct position is indicated by an "OK" on the display. This makes work much easier during the annual Light Test in October.
