With Motiro, Renault is Targeting Older Vehicles
PARIS – September 4, 2008: In view of the ageing vehicle parc (eight years on average today), Renault’s Motrio range targets the older vehicle market. Motrio parts complement the genuine replacement arts range. They are aimed at owners of vehicles more than six years old, who are looking for a value-for-money solution tailored to the age of their car. As proof of their quality, Motrio parts ship with a one-year warranty, just like Renault genuine spare parts. The range is now available throughout the Renault network. Motrio parts also benefit from the efficiency of Renault logistics, bringing customers a high rate of availability, and the service quality of the Renault network.
Motrio packages: a complementary range available through the Renault
network
The Motrio range also includes a number of packages (parts
and labor) for oil changes, brakes, exhaust systems, etc. These packages
will be rolled out gradually across France from September in the primary
network (dealers and RRG outlets), secondary network (sub-dealers) and
Renault Minute outlets. In Europe (excluding France), Motrio packages will
be available in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Portugal by end-2008
and from all European outlets by end-2009.
Motrio: celebrating its tenth anniversary
Created in 1998,
the Motrio range has since expanded considerably. In the space of ten
years, the number of line items has increased tenfold, from 600 to 8,000.
At the same time, the number of product families has doubled to 41. Motrio
is broken down into three ranges: universal products (batteries, engine
oil, servicing fluid, wipers), routine maintenance products (brake pads and
disks, oil filters, etc.) and technical products (exhaust systems, shock
absorbers, etc..) Since the brand was created, Motrio's turnover has risen
steadily, totaling €73.4 million in 2007, up 19% on 2006. The range
covers 80% of the European parc, i.e. 32 vehicle makes and more than 4,000
models. Motrio brand products are distributed in 35 countries and were
recently launched in Turkey. Motrio products are available on Dialogys, the
electronic documentation system. Documentation for Motrio parts can also be
accessed from the site Renaultp@rts. At the same time, Motelio, a
multibrand documentation system designed to access all manufacturer data
(servicing and repair plans, procedures and data) has now been deployed
across 90% of the primary network in France.
Fifth anniversary for the network of Motrio repairers
Launched in 2003, the Motrio network was one of the first multi-brand
repair networks. Five years after its creation, it has proven a success. In
2008, it has 1,350 members, of whom more than 1,000 in France. The Motrio
network is also developing in Poland (33 sites), Portugal (37 sites) and is
well established in Argentina with 200 repairers. This network, which is
built around the brand name of Motrio, sells a wide range of tools and
services: diagnostic tools, Motelio documentation, packages, a financing
card for endcustomers, a website, etc.
