COLOGNE - September 2, 2008: Safety is the top priority for the Panasonic Toyota Racing Formula 1 team. A concerted effort from teams and the FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile) has drastically improved the protection offered to drivers and bystanders. Through innovations such as the head and neck safety (HANS) device, cockpit padding and advanced crash structures, safety has advanced greatly but research continues to offer even greater protection.
