SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 25, 2008 -- Despite views of a sluggish economy, the automotive industry, as well as other manufacturing segments are rapidly growing in North America. In response to this growth, Peterson American Corporation is currently expanding its presence in order to better meet customer needs.

Peterson American announces the addition of capacity through a new Peterson Spring facility, located in Queretaro, Mexico. This facility, scheduled for completion in October 2008, will complement Peterson's existing global footprint, and will offer full capability regarding compression springs, extension springs, torsion springs, formed wires, wire rings, stampings and assembly. Located in central Mexico, Peterson's presence will best afford quality products and services at competitive pricing. Mexico has long been a key operating location for Peterson for more than fifty years. By expanding current operations, Peterson will maintain and improve geographical competitiveness and product quality.

Peterson American has been at the forefront of the automotive spring industry since its creation in 1914. Founded in 1932, Peterson Spring is a charter member of the Spring Manufacturers Institute (SMI). Peterson Spring is the largest independent manufacturer in North America, and employs over 750 employees in 15 locations worldwide.
