GAYDON - August 25, 2008: Land Rover's most awarded vehicle, the Discovery 3 has today received yet another accolade from the leading women's motoring website, evecars.com in their Car of the Year awards.

The versatile Discovery 3 was voted Best Family 4x4 beating the Hyundai Santa Fe and the VW Tiguan. The judging panel of women, along with What Car? editor Steve Fowler, tested each vehicle's driving characteristics, comfort, practicality and space.

evecars.comeditor, Alex Jenner-Fust, said: "The Discovery 3 is the ultimate 4x4: it's comfortable, feels modern and will tackle anything. It's not cheap but it's as happy helping you haul the whole family and their luggage to the top of a mountain and back as when you're chauffeuring six friends to the cinema in style."

Land Rover UK's managing director, John Edwards, said: "We are extremely proud of the Discovery 3. Launched in 2004, it still continues to lead the market and receive acclaim from media and customers the world over. This award from evecars.com endorses its position as vehicle of choice for those customers who require a spacious, versatile and capable 7-seat family vehicle."

Prices for Discovery 3 start from £29,950. It boasts a host of features that make driving easier and safer such as Dynamic Stability Control and front and rear parking distance sensors, and has a combined fuel economy figure of 30mpg on the road.
