STOCKHOLM - June 29, 2008: Volvo Trucks’ Hungarian subsidiary, Volvo Hungary Trading and Services Kft, has signed an agreement for 1,500 trucks with transport and logistics company Waberer’s Optimum Solution, formerly known as Hungarocamion.

This is a long-term commitment between Waberer’s Optimum Solution and Volvo Truck Corporation, as the previous agreement for 1,000 trucks signed in 2006, will be concluded this year. The trucks - for various 4x2 combinations of the Volvo FH model - will be delivered over the next three years.

“Collaboration between the companies began in 1998 and since then Volvo Trucks has delivered on average more than 200 trucks every year to the company,” says David Illes, Managing Director of Volvo Hungary. “This new order is an excellent milestone and celebrates 10 years of co-operation,”

“We see strong economic development in Central Eastern Europe, mainly due to foreign investments, industrial development and growing activities in the construction segment,” adds Tom Jorning, Managing Director of Region Central Eastern Europe at Volvo Trucks.
