General Motors Corp. South Africa Supplier Award: Schaeffler Group South Africa is GM Supplier of the Year 2007

TROY, Mich., June 23 -- Schaeffler South Africa has been honored with the 2007 "Supplier of the Year" award in the Powertrain category by General Motors Corp. South Africa at the annual GM South Africa supplier awards function recently held in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. This is the 12th year that Schaeffler South Africa has received an award from GM South Africa.

"Since the award is based on performance in the areas of quality, technology, service and price, Schaeffler South Africa has proven once again that we put a lot of effort in our daily work in order to exceed our customers' expectations," said Len Terblanche, managing director at Schaeffler South Africa. "We employ a stringent quality campaign that has contributed significantly to our success, as it reinforces employees' awareness at all levels."

With the GM South Africa award, Schaeffler South Africa has received three prestigious supplier awards for 2007. The company was recently named "Powertrain Commodity Supplier of the Year" by Volkswagen South Africa and also received a Top 20 Supplier Award from Ford Motor Co. of South Africa.

Schaeffler South Africa supplies clutches and driveshaft components to the GM plant in Port Elizabeth.
