Ssangyong Appoints MB&G to Provide Extended Warranty Cover in Northern Ireland

NORTH SHIELDS - June 19, 2008: SsangYong distributor Koelliker UK, has appointed MB&G Insurance to provide extended warranties on its product range in Northern Ireland.

MB&G, one of the UK’s largest independent warranty providers is providing fourth and fifth year new car warranty cover up to 250,000 miles to add to the standard three year cover already provided by the manufacturer for Northern Irish customers. The entire product range will benefit from this initiative.

It is also providing second and third year mechanical warranty cover up to 250,000 miles on the Rodius MPV for SsangYong’s private hire customers across the UK.

“We are looking to add value to the SsangYong proposition in Northern Ireland and if the extended warranty offer increases sales we will look at launching similar schemes in the rest of the United Kingdom,” explained Ian Nicholson, finance and operations director, Koelliker UK.

“The Rodius offers an excellent combination of space and low running costs and we see this initiative as a pathfinder exercise for private hire companies across the UK.

“MB&G has had a good reputation in the warranty sector for three decades and we have appointed them to set up the warranty and manage any claims on our behalf,” he added.

The 2.7 litre diesel Rodius with seven seats as standard is proving very popular with taxi drivers and SsangYong is confident this initiative will increase sales and bring new drivers to the Korean brand for the first time. SsangYong estimates it will sell around 700 units to the private hire sector.

MB&G already provides a range of used car, van and trucks warranties to franchised dealer groups, independent dealers and manufacturers in the UK.
