Maserati plans to launch in India
MODENA, Italy -- Italian sports carmaker Maserati is looking for a distributor in India. The company said that Maserati's initial sales in India would be small, but expect the market for premium models to quickly in the wake of other off-shore demand for the high-end marque.
In the the U.S., Maserati's largest market, accounts for 43 percent of its sales based on final 2007 numbers. The company expects to sell 8,500 to 9,000 units this year, up from 7,496 cars last year as the company finally returned to profitability after 18 years operating in the red.
