MIS Promotes Josh Burgett to Director of Corporate Partnerships

Department also hires Nick Covill as Corporate Partnerships Executive

BROOKLYN, Mich. (April 23, 2008) – Michigan International Speedway’s corporate partnerships department has announced two changes to its staff.

Effective immediately, corporate partnership executive Josh Burgett was promoted to Director of Corporate Partnerships and will lead the department into its 40th season of racing in 2008.

Burgett, a Grass Lake, Mich. native, has over four years of corporate sales experience with MIS, most recently as a corporate sales executive since 2006. Previous to that, he served internships with the sales department and Americrown Corp., another subsidiary of International Speedway Corporation (ISC).

“This is a tremendous opportunity for Josh’s professional career,” track president Roger Curtis said. “He is a young, up-and-coming member of our staff who really understands the sales business in our sport.”

Burgett holds a bachelor’s degree from Siena Heights University (2004) and a master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University (2006). While at Eastern Michigan, Burgett was involved with corporate partnerships, marketing and promotions for the athletic department. He currently resides in Manchester.

Additionally, the department has also announced the hiring of Nick Covill as a corporate partnerships executive. Covill previously was a territory manager for Ritz Craft Homes in Jonesville, Mich. The Grass Lake, Mich. resident earned his bachelor’s degree from Miami of Ohio in 2001.
