Avis Surpasses Three Million Transactions for eToll Electronic Toll Collection Service

Time-saving products help travelers avoid delays, gain productivity while on the road

PARSIPPANY, N.J., April 3, 2008 -- Avis Rent A Car today announced that eToll, the company's electronic toll collection program, has achieved and surpassed a milestone of three million transactions. Now beginning its third year in service, eToll eliminates the need for travelers to carry change or wait in long cash payment lines at toll plazas and allows Avis renters to zip through electronic toll payment lanes.

"Offering time-saving amenities like eToll is part of the Avis 'We Try Harder' approach to service," said Michael Caron, vice president of product and program development for Avis Budget Group, Inc., parent company of Avis. "We're proud to celebrate three million eToll transactions and look forward to serving customers who want to maximize their time away from home in the future."

eToll is offered in the Northeast United States (from Maine to Virginia), Florida, Colorado, the metropolitan Houston and Chicago areas, and Puerto Rico. The service is available for $1.50 per day for the length of the rental, plus toll charges.

It continues Avis's long-standing tradition of offering technology innovations that help car renters avoid delays while traveling, and thus gain more free time to get work done, or to enjoy leisure activities or vacation time. A study of more than 6,000 Avis business customers found that as much as three hours or more of an average three-day trip is wasted being stuck in traffic jams, lost while driving, waiting to pay tolls and trying to find a high-speed Internet connection. Avis customers can reduce these delays by taking advantage of Avis where2(R) GPS navigation systems, Avis Connect portable Wi-Fi Internet access, and Avis's eToll electronic toll collection solutions in most major markets.
