Mike Skinner's Atlanta Pre-race

This week’s race truck for Atlanta Motor Speedway is Chassis No. 5-70. This truck has yet to see racing action this year; however the No. 5 Tundra team did test this truck at Atlanta earlier this year. Last Year’s Winner… Mike Skinner sat on the pole and won last year’s American Commercial Lines 200 at the 1.5 mile Atlanta track. He fully expects to do it again this year. Average Start… Skinner’s pole for last year’s Atlanta race boosted his average starting position at the track to second. He has made seven starts at Atlanta. Another Busy Weekend… For the second weekend in a row, Skinner will attempt to make the NEXTEL Cup race. This time however he will try and qualify the Red Bull Toyota Camry for Team Red Bull as he pulls double duty this weekend in Atlanta. Listen and watch … The American Commercial 200 is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. ET Friday, March 7. It will broadcast live on Speed Channel (TV), MRN (radio) and Sirius Satellite Radio (Ch. 128).\

Mike Skinner on racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway:

“Atlanta is a great track for us. We always seem to run rather well there, at least over the last few years anyway. Last year we got the pole and the win, and I would love nothing more than to do that again this year.

“We are off to a rough start so far, but as long as we can get our focus to top-10 finishes like we did last year I think we will be OK. The guys are doing a great job on this Tundra. We have just had some bad luck the first two races; there has been nothing really that we have done wrong. It’s just one of those things where we have just been the unlucky truck. Things will come around. This is too good of a team for it not to.”
