Greener Ground Transportation

Pure Luxury Transportation breaks through with a commitment to becoming a sustainable limousine service through guaranteed emission reductions.

PETALUMA, CA - February 12, 2008: Pure Luxury Transportation has embarked on an aggressive environmental sustainability program to reduce the environmental footprint of all aspects of their business including "the greening" of their executive ground transportation fleet. Using the services of Green Ride Global, a North-American firm which provides environmental sustainability programs for the transportation industry, Pure Luxury has committed to annually reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through fuel efficiency, reduced electricity use, waste diversion, recycling programs, and employee education.

Pure Luxury is not attempting to deflect focus from the emissions expelled by their core business and instead, through Green Ride Global, has guaranteed the annual reduction of their emissions and offers detailed and explicatory reports to their customers about the emissions produced by both their fleet and facilities.

Many of Pure Luxury's corporate clients have committed to reducing their own emissions. "Our clients have their own emission reduction targets to meet, and through their use of Pure Luxury, we are helping them meet those goals," says Jennifer Buffo, Chief Operating Officer of Pure Luxury Transportation. GHG emissions caused indirectly by an organization's or individual's activities are called Scope 3 Emissions. For example, a company that sends an employee to the airport in a taxi cab is responsible for the emissions caused by that trip, even though that company is not in the taxi business. Buffo continues, "Our commitment to superior customer service has just reached new heights. We are now leveraging our clients' environmental sustainability. We enable our clients' success and help them create their own green stories. "

The strategy being taken by Pure Luxury is unique among the ground transportation industry, and is considered the high-road among environmentalists. "What some companies are calling a 'green fleet' merely consists of parking a few hybrids on their lot," says Justin Raymond, President and CEO of Green Ride Global. "However, what Pure Luxury is doing is really addressing climate change at its source by transforming their business accordingly."

Pure Luxury Transportation had previously taken steps toward improved environmental health with their own proprietary fuel-saving technology, designed to reduce fuel consumption rates across their fleet, but needed to find a solution that would impact their entire operation. In response, Green Ride Global developed a custom Sustainability Roadmap that will influence all facets of Pure Luxury's business and will substantiate their hold as ground transportation market leaders in the heavily eco-focused and notably "green" Northern California market.
