AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 31, 2008 -- Chrysler LLC recently announced a plan to expand its Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle (CPOV) program eligibility to all qualifying Chrysler, Jeep(R) and Dodge dealers in the U.S. Previously, this program was limited only to the automaker's Five Star(R) dealers.

"We are pleased to announce the extension of our Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle program to all qualifying Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge U.S. dealers," said Darryl Jackson, Chrysler Vice President - U.S. Sales. "Opening the program to all of our dealers is a win-win situation; in which dealers can introduce certified shoppers to the best assortment of pre-owned, Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles available, and customers are invited to experience the Chrysler LLC brand family of vehicles at a great value."

About Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles

Chrysler launched its national Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle program as a Five Star Dealer exclusive in the spring of 2002; it has since been the fastest growing brand in the certified-used segment.

Reporting 14 consecutive years of industry growth, Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle industry sales figures through December 2007 were up 2 percent calendar-year-to-date, according to sales numbers provided by Autodata. At the same time, Chrysler Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle sales were up 5 percent, which is the sixth consecutive year the CPOV brand sales growth rate has more than doubled the industry segment.

"Given the considerable success Chrysler's Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle initiative has enjoyed already, we have high expectations for continued growth as we expand eligibility to more dealers this year," Jackson said.

Chrysler's Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Program Benefits

Marketed as "Brand Spankin' Used(R)," Chrysler Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles are sold only through Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealerships that have had a comprehensive validation of the dealership's facilities, operational processes, salesperson and technician training accreditation before they are authorized to sell Chrysler Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles.

For a vehicle to be certified under Chrysler's used-vehicle program, it must be a 2003 through 2008 model pre-owned vehicle with less than 65,000 miles and pass a stringent 125-point mechanical, safety and condition standard inspection. Chrysler CPO vehicles are backed by an eight-year/80,000-mile powertrain limited warranty, 24-hour, 365-day full roadside assistance with a $35 per day rental car allowance and a three-month or 3,000-mile Maximum Care warranty that is additive to any remaining 3 year / 36,000 mile comprehensive new vehicle warranty.

"Our Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle brand introduces customers to our family of Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge products," Jackson said. "Once our customers discover the quality and peace of mind provided by our CPO vehicles, our goal is for them to consider another new or certified-used Chrysler LLC product when they are in the market for their next vehicle."

In addition, Chrysler Financial consistently offers special financing programs for qualified CPOV buyers, and along with the Carfax Vehicle History Report, a Carfax limited buyback guarantee is offered as part of their Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle program partnership with the automaker.
