  • DETROIT - January 20, 2008: Vehicles using alternatives to fuel featured prominently at this year's North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, as efforts to combat global warming continue. From hydrogen to bio-fuels, automakers introduced a variety of alternative propulsion vehicles. In addition to dual-mode hybrids, General Motors introduced the plug-in hybrid from Saturn – a vehicle than can potentially travel up to 10 miles solely on electric power before requiring the use of gas.
