2008 North American International Auto Show Encourages Attendees To Plan Ahead for Parking at Charity Preview

  • DETROIT, Jan. 17, 2008 -- WHO:    The 2008 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) advises
              those attending the black-tie Charity Preview gala on Friday, Jan.
              18 to plan to arrive early at Cobo Center.
    
      WHAT:   To plan ahead for parking, the NAIAS 2008 recommends the
              following:
    
              If You Are Driving Yourself
              -- General access to Cobo Center Parking Garage will be closed to
                 non-credentialed vehicles beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan.
                 18.
              -- The Millennium Garage, on Congress between Cass and First
                 streets is available for self-parking for the event.  Miller
                 Parking Garage between Atwater and Bates streets also is
                 available.
    
              If You Are A Chauffeur
              -- Chauffeurs dropping off guests must have their vehicles
                 properly credentialed with placards.
              -- Chauffeurs in need of placards can call (248) 283-5161 before 3
                 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18.
              -- Placards must be picked up in person at the Cobo Center
                 security office.
    
      WHERE:  The NAIAS 2008 Charity Preview will take place at Cobo Center in
              Detroit.
    
      WHEN:   The Charity Preview black-tie gala will be held from 6 p.m. to 9
              p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18.  The Barenaked Ladies will be performing
              an hour and 15 minute concert beginning at 9 p.m. in Cobo Arena.
