Subaru Reports December 2007 and Year-End Sales

Company posts highest-ever recorded Subaru Impreza month and year-end totals

CHERRY HILL, N.J., Jan. 3 -- Subaru of America, Inc. today reported December sales of 18,739 units for the month and a total of 187,208 total units for the year. Sales of the Subaru Impreza led the charge, posting highest-ever month and year-end totals.

"In the second half of 2007, Subaru delivered five refreshed or all new products to our dealerships including the completely redesigned Impreza model line that was a record performer for us again this year," said Tim Colbeck, vice president of sales, Subaru of America, Inc. "We would like to sincerely thank our retailers for their efforts this year. We look forward to the year ahead with the launch of the all-new 2009 Subaru Forester at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this month that will join the strongest product lineup in the history of the brand."

For December 2007, the Subaru Tribeca posted 1,471 units for the month. Subaru Legacy recorded 7,897 units, while Outback accounted for 5,817 units in December. Subaru Forester recorded 3,992 units, while the Subaru Impreza was up 23 percent from the same period last year, posting its strongest-ever month of sales at 5,376 units in December.

Subaru Tribeca sales for 2007 totaled 16,790 units. Subaru Legacy recorded sales of 78,428 units, of which the Subaru Outback posted 56,079 units for the year. Subaru

Forester posted sales of 44,530 units in calendar year 2007. For the second year in a row, the greatest increase of any car line came from the Impreza. The Impreza posted another all-time sales record for the brand with a gain of 13 percent totaling 46,333 units for the year. The discontinued Baja line accounted for 1,127 sales in 2007.
