Shanghai GM's Dongyue production unit in Shandong province has recently rolled off its 150,000th car, a blue-colored Chevrolet Lova, local Chinese media reported.

Established in February 2003, the Dongyue production unit was invested in a 50-25-25 ratio by Shanghai GM, the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (Group) and GM (China). Its production line includes Chevrolet Lova, Aveo, Epica and Sail.

The joint venture company currently has an annual production capacity of 150,000 cars and 225,000 engines and it plans to promote this capacity to 300,000 cars, 750,000 engines and 600,000 transmission units annually.

Shanghai GM has four OEM production bases in China. Besides its leading production base in Pudong, Shanghai where Buick and Cadillac vehicles are produced and the Dongyue base in Shandong province, where Chevrolet vehicles are produced, Shanghai GM also has a production base in Shenyang of Liaoning province, where Buick GL8 are produced and a joint venture plant in Liuzhou of Guangxi province, where Chevrolet Sparks are produced.
