Ford Motor Company Joins Suppliers Partnership for the Environment

  • WASHINGTON, Nov. 27, 2007; The Suppliers Partnership for the Environment (SP) today announced that Ford Motor Company is the newest member of SP.

    "The Suppliers Partnership for the Environment is very pleased to announce that Ford Motor Company has joined SP," said Randy Leslie, Vice President & General Manager, Johnson Controls, Inc. and SP's Chair. "SP continues to grow by providing economic and environmental value to all levels of the automobile supply chain," said Leslie.

    "One of the exciting things about this announcement for SP is that Ford Motor Company now joins Chrysler and General Motors in providing their leadership to SP," said SP's Membership Chair, Leon Richardson, President, Chemico Systems, Inc. "SP's mission is to reduce our member companies' environmental footprint and do so in a way that will provide economic opportunity for the automobile supply chain," continued Richardson. "We welcome Ford Motor Company participation in SP and are we will continue to work to encourage other leadership companies to join the organization," Richardson concluded.

    The SP Board Representative for Ford Motor Company will be Susan Cischke, Senior Vice President - Sustainability, Environmental and Safety Engineering. During the SP 4th Quarter Membership Meeting that took place on November 8 in Washington, DC, Andrew Hobbs, Director, Environmental Quality Office, Ford Motor Company, was elected an At-large Chair of the SP Executive Committee, the entity that manages the day-to-day activities of the organization.
