Today’s headlight technologies provide excellent illumination in most cases. When a bulb fails, be sure to replace the bulb or capsule with equal or better quality lighting. Headlights dim over time, similar to the lighting in your home; replacing the bulbs in pairs provides equal illumination and maximum downrange visibility. If you have installed auxiliary lighting, be sure that your lights are approved by the Department of Transportation in order to comply with your state’s laws that regulate the number and power of auxiliary lights. If you purchase fog lights, they should be wired to work only with the headlights while they are in low-beam mode.
