Volkswagen will start to sell Tiguan in completely-built imported units starting next year, Chinese media reported today.

The model will be priced at approximately 500,000 yuan ($66,590) and will compete directly with rivals BMW X3, Land Rover Freelander 2, Audi Q5 and Volvo XC70.

Similar to VW Golf GTI, the vehicle will be powered by the 2.0 TSI engine and offers strong power. The new Tiguan was officially launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September and will make its debut in China at the Guangdong Auto Show next month, West China City Daily reported.
