CLIFTON, N.J.--Donna Bador of Clifton, N.J., became a household name with GEICOs 23,000 associates when she recently bought her auto policy last month and became GEICO's record-setting eight millionth policyholder.

Steve Cunningham, GEICOs assistant vice president in Buffalo, N.Y., visited Ms. Bador last week to personally thank her for choosing GEICO as her automobile insurer.

"Donna could hardly believe she was our eight millionth policyholder when I called to tell her the news," said Cunningham. "When we met, she was very appreciative and excited to be a GEICO customer."

Bador said, I was really surprised when I found out I was GEICOs 8 millionth policyholder. I just moved to New Jersey from Vermont and had to find a new auto insurer. I called around for quotes and it turned out that GEICO had the lowest rate and I found it to be the easiest and fastest process.

Our thanks go out to all of our policyholders for helping GEICO reach eight million policyholders, said GEICO Chairman Tony Nicely. All of our 23,000 associates worked hard to make this happen and I congratulate them.

Joining in the celebration were Richard Striano, the sales counselor who sold the record-breaking policy; Strianos supervisor, Robin Jessie; and Chris Jarrard, a sales director. All three associates work in GEICOs Woodbury, N.Y., office.

GEICO (Government Employees Insurance Company) is the fourth-largest private passenger auto insurer in the United States with more than 8 million policyholders. It is the third-largest auto insurer in New Jersey, where it provides auto insurance coverage to 400,000 policyholders in the state. As a member of the Berkshire Hathaway group of companies, GEICO is rated A++ for financial stability by A.M. Best Company and ranks at the top of several national customer satisfaction surveys.
