Driving Skills for Life Brings Teen Safety Message to Governor's Conference in Wisconsin August 22-23

DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 20, 2007 -- Driving Skills for Life will present its ongoing plan for reducing teen auto fatalities at Wisconsin's 33rd Annual Governor's Conference on Highway Safety.

Ford Motor Company Fund, which established Driving Skills for Life in 2003 in cooperation with the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA), is one of many organizations that will attend the conference to discuss traffic and auto safety issues and concerns August 22-23 at the New Holiday Inn Hotel and Convention Center in Stevens Point.

"Ford Motor Company Fund's Driving Skills For Life program is committed to its ongoing efforts to educate our communities about safe teen driving," said Jim Graham, Community Relations Manager of Ford Motor Company Fund. "We are thrilled to be participating in the highway safety conference. It's a tremendous opportunity for us to learn from the other organizations while continuing to spread Ford's auto-safety message in Wisconsin."

Driving Skills For Life focuses on helping newly licensed drivers develop skills necessary for safe driving beyond what they learn in driver education programs. The program also provides effective learning tools, including a comprehensive interactive Web site that rewards students for taking the initiative to learn safe driving techniques. Educator materials are available at no charge in both English and Spanish, allowing instruction of the program in school or community settings. In addition, Driving Skills for Life has held hands-on driving events throughout the nation that have reached nearly 6,000 students.
