Volkswagen of America Names New Lifestyle Public Relations Manager

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. August 17, 2007; Volkswagen of America, Inc. announced today that it has named Mya Walters as its Lifestyle Public Relations Manager.

In this position, Walters will provide strategic direction to Volkswagen and its lifestyle, entertainment and product placement agency partners and serve as a contact for lifestyle media outlets. Walters’ extensive experience in lifestyle public and media relations will serve as a tremendous asset to Volkswagen and help to define new ways for the brand to communicate its products and assets through the media, strategic partnerships and national and regional events.

Prior to joining the Volkswagen team, Walters was an independent consultant handling accounts for Gymboree, Arden B and Juan Carlos Obando where she specialized in entertainment, consumer, philanthropic, lifestyle and pop culture activities. She also worked for a number of firms including Girls Intelligence Agency as Marketing and Promotions Director, Tara Ink PR/ Marketing/ Creative Events as a Senior Account Supervisor, Bragman Nyman Cafarelli handling Special Projects, Domain Public Relations & Marketing as a Senior Account Manager and Huvane Baum Halls as an Assistant Publicist. Some of the noteworthy accounts she has worked on include Warner Bros., , Hanes, Nintendo, Boost Mobile, The Hard Rock Hotel, Bratz, Disney Couture, Cadillac, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Mya holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri. During her junior year, she studied abroad at Imperial College in London.
