Kia Motors America Donates Vehicles to Irvine Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority

2007 Sedona and Sorento Are Donated to City and County Public Departments

IRVINE, Calif., June 27 -- Kia Motors America (KMA) today donated two vehicles, a 2007 Sedona minivan and 2007 Sorento SUV, to the Irvine Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) respectively, during a ceremony held at KMA's new corporate headquarters. Irvine Chief of Police David Maggard, Jr. and OCFA Assistant Fire Chief, Support Services Jerry Hunter were present to accept the vehicles.

"We are proud to show our support to the Irvine Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority," said B.G. Lee, chief executive officer of Kia Motors America, who was on-hand to present the keys. "We hope that our vehicles will provide these departments with the necessary assistance needed for their continued support of the City of Irvine and Orange County."

The Irvine Police Department will use the Sedona as a recruiting vehicle, driving it to events, colleges and recruiting fairs, while the Sorento will be painted red by the OCFA and used to promote fire awareness throughout Orange County.
