COLOGNE - May 30, 2007: The work of a racecar engineer is crucial to the success of a Formula One team, according to Panasonic Toyota Racing officials. Francesco Nenci and Gianluca Pisanello, the Italian race engineers for the Toyota Team, work with drivers Jarno Trulli and Ralf Schumacher. Nenci and Pisanello’s jobs are to serve as links between their drivers and the mechanics working in the garage and paddock offices. On average, engineers travel eight months of the year attending races and practice sessions. Engineers also provide drivers the latest data from practice sessions and supply tips during qualifying.
