Federal-Mogul's Innovative Technologies Receive 2007 PACE Awards

SOUTHFIELD, Mich.--Federal-Mogul Corporation (OTCBB:FDMLQ) received two prestigious Automotive News PACE (Premier Automotive Suppliers Contribution to Excellence) Awards during a ceremony held April 16 in Detroit, Michigan. Federal-Mogul was honored for two of its innovative products: the High Temperature Alloy (HTA) exhaust gaskets and the Federal-Mogul Goetze branded Diamond Coating (GDC®) for piston rings. The PACE Award recognizes automotive suppliers for superior innovation, technological advancement and business performance. The product category winners are innovations in new product development and introduction of processes that have significant market impact and act as game changers in the automotive industry.

The HTA exhaust gaskets perform under extreme heat conditions, providing effective solutions for todays and tomorrows emissions-compliant heavy-duty engines. Federal-Mogul GDC for piston rings is made with diamond particles that reduce component wear compared to other coating technologies used for diesel engines, meeting new U.S. and European emissions standards.

The Companys LocatGuard 2700 protective sleeving, an innovative underhood material technology providing critical wear protection for plastic fuel line applications, was a finalist in the product category and the Friction SafetyLock for commercial vehicles received an honorable mention.

At Federal-Mogul we are committed to providing value to our customers through leading-edge technologies and innovations," said Ramzi Hermiz, senior vice president, Sealing Systems. The HTA exhaust gaskets were created to withstand high temperatures, resulting from tighter standards. It is an honor to be recognized for the benefit this product provides the market.

The Powertrain team is very proud to be the PACE recipient for its GDC rings. The chrome diamond coating enables our customers to build the next-generation of high-performing, fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly diesel engines for heavy-duty and passenger car applications, said Rainer Jueckstock, senior vice president, Powertrain.

The PACE Award is viewed around the world as the industry symbol of innovation. PACE Award winners were chosen following an extensive review by an independent panel of judges, including a comprehensive written application and a site visit. The 13th annual PACE Award was presented by Automotive News, Microsoft, SAP and Transportation Research Center Inc. (TRC Inc.). The competition was open to suppliers who contributed products, processes, materials or services directly to the manufacturer of cars or trucks.
