UBS Motor Cars Under the Stars

April 10, 2007 – Philadelphia, PA – United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Philadelphia & Vicinity is pleased to announce that the fourth annual UBS Motor Cars Under the Stars will take place on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at The Ardrossan Estate on the Main Line. Exciting plans are underway for this prestigious event that showcases the most elegant classic cars in our area. Gerry Lenfest was selected as the 2007 honoree for his incredible commitment to philanthropic efforts throughout the community.

“UBS is proud to pledge our support as the presenting sponsor of this event for the fourth year in a row,” said Bob Hall, Executive Director of UBS Financial Services, presenting sponsor of UBS Motor Cars Under the Stars. “This event has been very successful in raising significant money to help people with disabilities because it has attracted numerous sponsors who have been very generous and brought many guests to enjoy the festivities.”

While enjoying delicious food and drinks with friends and car enthusiasts, guests can stroll around the expansive grounds of this prominent Main Line estate to behold classic automobiles. This spectacular display of more than thirty cars will feature modern classic automobiles from the Exclusive Automobile Sponsors Land Rover and Jaguar, as well as collector automobiles from exclusive private collections.

“It is a rare opportunity to be able to admire so many luxurious cars at one time in such a magnificent outdoor setting,” said Willa Kravitz, Director of Development for United Cerebral Palsy & Vicinity. “We are grateful to all the corporate partners and individuals who support our mission by sponsoring and attending this event.”

More than 600 guests are expected to attend UBS Motor Cars Under the Stars at Ardrossan in 2007 and the goal is to raise more than $100,000 to help the infants, children and adults with disabilities who are served by UCP.

The Ardrossan Estate has been the setting for many high society parties since it was built in 1912, but has just recently been reopened to the public. This Main Line mansion was once home to Hope Montgomery Scott, the inspiration for the leading lady played by Katharine Hepburn in The Philadelphia Story and Grace Kelly in High Society. This unique event showcasing classic cars combined with a majestic setting, delicious food and drink, and a distinguished guest list promises to be a memorable evening. As the sun goes down and the stars come out, guests will step back in time and enjoy watching an outdoor presentation of The Philadelphia Story at the home where the concept for the movie was created. Tours of this elegant mansion rich in history, artwork and architectural details will be available during the event.

“Jaguar and Land Rover are proud to have supported UBS Motor Cars Under the Stars since its inception and are delighted that the event continues to grow in popularity,” said Michael Smyth, President of Great Britains Automotive Group. “Our customers have a really great time and it is exciting to introduce our newest cars at this event.”

UBS Motor Cars Under the Stars to benefit United Cerebral Palsy receives generous support from UBS Financial Services, Inc., the Philadelphia Area Jaguar Dealers and Land Rover Retailers of the Delaware Valley. Media support is provided by CBS3, Philadelphia Magazine, The Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News.
