VIDEO from Medialink and Ford: Ford New York Auto Show Highlights

NEW YORK, April 4 -- Legendary car-builder Carroll Shelby celebrates the 40th anniversary of his "King of the Road" with the new 2008 Shelby GT500KR at the New York Auto Show. The new KR packs 40 more horses under the hood, making it the most powerful production Ford Mustang ever built. The 2008 Shelby GT500KR will be limited to only 1,000 units.

Famed hot-rod designer Chip Foose also lends his talents to Ford with the 2008 F-150 Foose edition. This production-intent show truck appears at the New York Auto Show. It features a low-slung, street boulevard cruiser look matched with a hot 5.4 liter V-8 engine. To maintain the truck's Built Ford Tough heritage, the Foose edition's low look comes from lowering the springs and shocks only two inches. The rest is pure illusion, as only Chip Foose can create.

Ford brings even more star-power to the New York show with its 2008 Ford Expedition Funkmaster Flex edition. DJ Funkmaster Flex, the hip-hop guru of car customization, worked with Ford designers to create an expressive concept that delivers the Expedition's big SUV authenticity with a unique urban style and presence. The 2008 Ford Expedition Funkmaster Flex edition features custom two-tone paint, a complete 3D carbon body kit and custom interior. The Funkmaster Flex Edition is identified inside and out with distinctive FMF badges. The vehicle will be in dealer showrooms this fall.
