Camping World Announces Opening of New SuperCenter in Wood Village, Oregon

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.--Camping World, Americas largest retailer of RV and outdoor supplies and accessories, today announced the opening of a new SuperCenter in Wood Village, Oregon outside of Portland. It is co-located with Olinger Travel Homes, part of the dynamic FreedomRoads dealer network. The new SuperCenter brings the number of the rapidly growing retailers stores to 70 with plans to reach the 100 mark by 2008.

Located at NE Sandy Blvd off of I-84 at exit 16, the new SuperCenter has over 4,000 square feet of retail floor space. With over 8000 skus available from basic camping and outdoor accessories to hard to find RV parts, the full service, state-of-the-art store provides customers with all of their RV, outdoor, camping accessory and service needs. The Wood Village store sits at the edge of the Columbia River Gorge, a National Scenic Area, and the historic Columbia River Highway.

Thomas Dwyer, General Manager of Camping World of Wood Village said, As this SuperCenter was being built out you could sense the eagerness among RVers for it to open. It is really the ultimate resource for them and were pleased to be a big part of their RVing experience. Along side Olinger Travel Homes, were one powerful team.

Camping World President and CEO Marcus Lemonis commented, This opening, like so many others across the country, has been incredibly well received, but none of us are really surprised. There is not only great demand for what we supply, but an equally great enthusiasm for us as a trusted partner in our customers leisure, fun and family time.

The brisk expansion of Camping World is well timed to respond to growing consumer demand as the outlook for the RV and RV supplies and accessories market burgeons, topping lists of US growth industries. A recent study by the University of Michigans Survey Research Center found that one in 12 U.S. vehicle-owning households now own an RV. There are now 7.9 million households in the U.S. with a RV. This figure indicates a 58 percent rise in RV ownership since 1980. This study also anticipates similar growth in the future, thus providing the catalyst for additional Camping World stores across the country.
