Dual Mode Vehicle Unveiled by Gakunan Railway in Shizuoka Prefecture

Tokyo January 22, 2007; Japan Today reported that a dual mode vehicle (DMV), which runs on both the road and train tracks, was unveiled by Gakunan Railway in Shizuoka Prefecture. The vehicle, developed by JR Hokkaido, switches between rubber tires and steel wheels. Its fuel cost is 25% of a diesel vehicle, JR says.
