New LearnKey Automotive Training Course Strives to Fill Employment Void

ST. GEORGE, Utah--32,000. Its the number of people in the Cayman Islands, and according to the U.S. Department of Labor, it is also approximately the number of automotive service technician positions left unfilled in the U.S. because of a lack of qualified candidates.

LearnKey, Inc., an award-winning content producer of online learning systems, is launching its latest interactive, on-demand training course to help combat this epidemic and qualify more individuals for the workforce. Their new course, Modern Automotive Service Technician, contains over 380 hours of automotive training essential to those entering or progressing in automotive servicing. Those who complete the course will be prepared to become Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified.

While automotive technicians rarely pursue a traditional education past high school, those with higher education can make more than twice the annual amount as those without. Courses taught in vocational school or community colleges are expensive and can take up to two years to complete. The LearnKey automotive training course offers the same professional training but costs less than schools while giving students the flexibility to learn at their own pace.

Automotive Technicians are in high demand in todays workplace and this course will make it easier to become ASE certified, said Jamie Franzman, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at LearnKey. Weve spent the last 20 years making learning more convenient and affordable while preparing people for the careers they desire.

The course is divided into eight modules which focus on different automotive systems.

  • Module 1 - Foundations of Automotive Technology
  • Module 2 - Automotive Engines
  • Module 3 - Battery, Starting and Charging Systems
  • Module 4 - Engine Performance and Computer Systems
  • Module 5 - Electrical Systems
  • Module 6 - Drive Train and Axles
  • Module 7 - Suspension, Steering and Brakes
  • Module 8 - Heating and Air Conditioning

This LearnKey course includes video for module introductions, in excess of 70 2D and 3D animations of automotive assemblies and systems, interactive exercises, lesson review quizzes and exercises and is available online.
