Motor Trend, Motor Trend Classic and Motor Trend RADIO Recognized by 2006 Automotive Media Competition for Excellence in Journalism

LOS ANGELES--The writers and editors of Motor Trend magazine, the worlds automotive authority and part of PRIMEDIAs Consumer Automotive Group, won several awards from the 16th International Automotive Media Competition (IAMC), an annual program that recognizes and encourages excellence in automotive journalism.

The competition was a significant multimedia win for the brand, with Motor Trend, Motor Trend Classic and Motor Trend RADIO all bringing home medals. Among the winners was Bob Long, automotive veteran and Producer/Host of Motor Trend RADIO, which won in the Best of Radio category for Design Perspectives Bring Back the Challenger.

Now in its fourth year, Motor Trend RADIO features interviews with its award-winning editors, influential industry leaders, and other personalities in the automotive industry, along with the latest news and insider information about motor sports, road tests, future products and live coverage of major events and auto shows.

We are very proud of the achievements of our team members and we appreciate the International Automotive Media Competition for recognizing their fine work, said Angus MacKenzie, editor-in-chief of Motor Trend Magazine. We will continue to strive to bring the highest quality automotive reporting and coverage to our readers and to the listeners of Motor Trend RADIO.

Editorial entries for medal consideration had to meet a minimum standard to qualify for their respective awards, which are judged by peers on a point scale with a top score of 100. In contrast, the Best of Division and Best of the Year awards are decided in a competition against other award-winning entries. The International Automotive Media Competition is organized by the International Society for Vehicle Preservation, which has coordinated the award presentations for well over a decade.
