Infiniti Puts Local Fund-Raising Effort in Overdrive

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.--The California Highway Patrol 11-99 Foundation has received a generous donation to support its 2006 year-end fund-raising drive a 2007 Infiniti G sports sedan valued at $39,200.

Infiniti originally donated the vehicle to the Boys and Girls Club of Monterey, which raffled it off at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance as a fund-raiser.

Bruce Meyer, a local car collector and automobile enthusiast, won the Infiniti G. Meyer decided to re-donate the vehicle to benefit the CHP 11-99 Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports families of fallen, current, and retired California Highway Patrol employees through death and emergency benefits and scholarships. Meyer is a past president of the CHP 11-99 Foundation.

Ive heard so many great things about the new Infiniti G that I figured if I actually got the vehicle in my garage I wouldnt be able to give it up. So, I decided to donate it before I had the opportunity to fall in love with it, said Meyer. The CHP 11-99 Foundation provides such a great service for CHP employees and their families, I wanted to extend my good fortune by donating this car to help provide additional support to the men and women who put their lives on the line for us every day.

Shiro Nakamura, senior vice president for Nissan and Infiniti vehicle design, was present to hand the keys over to the 11-99 Foundation. Im happy this vehicle is able to benefit so many people, said Nakamura. Were always looking to help communities, but when a community member like Mr. Meyer reaches out and continues the generosity, its really quite amazing.
