Car and Driver's '10Best Cars' List

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Nov. 10 -- In honor of the 25th anniversary of Car and Driver's 10Best Cars competition, the annual list that is highly anticipated by readers and manufacturers alike, the magazine is calling for readers to guess the editors' selections for 2007.

Two lucky winners will receive a one-year lease for one of the top ten cars from Car and Driver's list. In addition to two grand prize winners, a second place winner will receive a certificate to the Skip Barber One-Day Driving School (http://www.skipbarber.com/). The contest runs through November 21, 2006. For a full list of Car and Driver's 2007 nominees and official contest rules visit: http://www.caranddriver.com/. The 2007 list will be announced in the January 2007 issue of the magazine, on sale December 5th.

Each year, the entire editorial staff of Car and Driver gathers in a rural part of Michigan for a week of evaluating all the new cars of the year. Vehicles are judged on three areas of interest: performance, aesthetics, and affordability. First, the editors study how well the car performs its intended functions -- sports cars are expected to be fast and exhilarating, sedans are presumed to be practical. Second, the editors select the more engaging cars in each category; be it better driving manners, a double-take-inducing look, or a powerful engine. Finally, they look for inexpensive cars that prove to be fast, fun and practical. Ten models are selected and named to Car and Driver's 10Best Cars list.
