Toyota Planning Two More Plants in North America ?

Washington DC October 30, 2006; The AIADA newsletter reported that the Japanese newspaper Mainichi reported Saturday that Toyota has plans to build two assembly plants in North America.

According to the report, Toyota wants to build a plant by 2009 in the northern part of the Midwest to assemble Yaris compact cars, and another by 2010 in North America to start producing SUVs.

Toyota officials were not immediately available for comment.
