9/25/06 - Mid Ohio Sports Car Course | Over 450 racers entered the inaugural 2006 NASA National Championships. All of them will go down in the records books as participants but only 35 came home with National Championships.

 

Thanks to some fast Kumho Ecsta tires, consistent-fade free  <http://www.carbotecheng.com/> Carbotech XP brake pads, and precise set up by  <http://www.speedlab1.com/pr01.htm> Automekanika, Speedtech's driver - Allen Skillicorn was able to take home his 1st National Championship. Leading the TTD class from the very 1st session of the weekend, Allen never looked back. The closest competitor's fastest lap was over 2 seconds slower than the pace set by Allen.

 

"2006 has been such a rollercoaster. Being able to call myself a National Champion is the highlight of my racing career!" - notes Speedtech driver Allen Skillicorn.

Speedtech is still considering what race series to run for 2007. One of the options is to compete in the NASA Pro Racing, Honda Challenge series. Honda Challenge is a nationwide racing series which showcases a number of Honda/Acura vehicles. Speedtech's plan would be to campaign a Honda S2000 in the H1 class, the premier HC class, with driver Allen Skillicorn.
