U.S. Congress Bill Would Offer $20 Billion Loan to Automakers for "Green Technologies"

Washington DC September 20, 2006; The AIADA newsletter reported that Congressman Mike Rogers (R-MI-08), is looking to draft a bill which may give automakers up to $20 billion in federally backed loan guarantees to speed the development of "green technologies," including hybrid electric engines, flexible fuels and clean diesel. Rogers office is still in the process of writing this legislation and expects to introduce the bill in the House next week.
