UK International Motorcycle And Scooter Show Revs Up For 2006 With An Action-Packed Line-Up

BIRMINGHAM, England - August 23, 2006: The International Motorcycle and Scooter Show today announced its action-packed feature line-up for 2006. Taking place between 27th October and 5th November at Birmingham’s NEC, visitors to this year’s show will be spoilt for choice when it comes to both interactive features and spectator events. Catering for all interests, whether they be tearing it up on the Off-Road Experience, feeling the power of the Harley-Davidson V Rod or sitting back and watching some of the world’s best stunt riders perform death defying manoeuvres, the Show will keep visitors entertained from start to finish.

Thunderdome Games Arena

The all-new Thunderdome Games Arena will be a highlight for 2006, treating visitors to a theatrical Mad Max style stunt show. Set against an impressive post-apocalyptic backdrop, multiple stunt riders will perform a spectacular show, featuring heart-stopping bike manoeuvres this is one not to be missed!

Harley-Davidson V-Rod Experience

Also new for 2006 the Harley-Davidson V-Rod Experience will take a similar form to the Bike Ride Out, offering visitors the privilege of feeling for themselves the extreme power of the acclaimed Harley-Davidson fuel-injected 60° V-Twin Revolution® engine. Riders will be taken out on the roads around the NEC and will need to produce a valid licence and pass a breathalyser test before being allowed to ride.

Arai Race Paddock

The ever-popular Race Paddock will once again be an integral part of the show, featuring some of the top names in racing. The Blackhorse stage will be a focal point, keeping the crowds entertained with live shows, including the end of racing season finale, the British Superbike Awards, which will see the Champions presented with their awards. MotoGP fans will also be able to watch the final Grand Prix of the season live on the giant screen while enjoying a pint of Guinness from the Guinness Bar.

James Whitham’s ‘How To?’ Stage

Take a break from the action to swot up on your biking knowledge at the How To? Stage where James Whitham will be entertaining the crowds and offering his advice on a range of biking topics via his interactive question and answer sessions.

Harley-Davidson Rock Café

During an action packed day, the brand new Harley-Davidson Rock Café will be the perfect way to re-fuel. Visitors to the Café will be able to relax and enjoy food from the Harley-Davidson Rock Café whilst absorbing the Harley-Davidson experience..

Mini-Moto and Mini Super Moto

Proving that good things come in small packages, Mini-Moto is back for 2006 but this time with the increased power of the 90cc Mini Super Moto and a revamped track! For those with a competitive streak, the new timing system will enable riders to compete against the clock or each other.

Interactive Feature Favourites

Back by popular demand and in addition to new interactive features, the original interactive line-up returns, including the ‘Bike Ride Out’ road riding experience, giving visitors the opportunity to test the 2006 models from all the major manufacturers. For those who want some rugged action, the ‘Off Road Experience’ will give visitors an opportunity to try off roading on a purpose built track taking them through the woodland around the NEC. Encouraging the next generation of biker, kids (aged 5-11) visiting the Show can get some two-wheeled action at the ‘My First Honda Licence’ feature. Kids can try out 50cc bikes on an indoor track and will receive their first bike licence at the end

Standard ticket prices are £15 for adults, £13 for students, £5 for senior citizens and children between eleven and sixteen, and £35 for a family ticket. Children under the age of eleven are admitted for free.
