IRL Press Luncheon-Grape Stomp, Aug. 23

IndyCar(r) Drivers Take Part in Grape Stomp,

Press Conference in San Francisco

 

You are invited to the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma press
conference/luncheon on Wednesday, Aug. 23 at the Fior d'Italia
restaurant in San Francisco's North Beach.  The event, which is being
held in advance of the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma weekend (Aug. 25-27),
is hosted by Infineon Raceway and the Sonoma County Tourism Bureau.

 

WHO:              

Buddy Rice (Rahal Letterman Racing): 2004 Indianapolis 500 champion;
placed second at Infineon Raceway in 2005.

 

Kosuke Matsuura (Super Aguri Fernandez Racing): 2004 Bombardier Rookie
of the Year; six top-10 finishes so far in 2006.      

 

Scott Sharp (Delphi Fernandez Racing): 1996 IRL IndyCar(r) Series
co-champion; started on the pole for 2001 Indianapolis 500; holds series
record for most starts; finished fifth in 2005 points standings.  

 

WHEN:            

Wednesday, August 23 - Grape Stomp: 11:30 a.m.; Lunch: noon

Prior to the press conference, the drivers will slip off their shoes,
roll up their pants and participate in an old-fashioned Grape Stomp in
authentic wooden barrels.
