Old Dominion Largest Fleet to Install Iteris Lane Departure Warning Technology

ANAHEIM, Calif.--Aug. 9, 2006--Iteris, Inc. (AMEX:ITI), a leader in vision-based technologies and Intelligent Transportation Systems that optimize traffic flow and enhance driver safety, today announced that Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc., a leading less-than-truckload (LTL) super regional carrier, will install Iteris' Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system in 1200 tractors in its existing fleet of over 4,400 with plans to make LDW part of their standard specification on all new truck purchases in the future. Old Dominion is the 10th largest LTL carrier in the country, according to the most recent published Transport Topics Top 100 list.

Old Dominion will begin deployment of the Iteris LDW system in August 2006 and expects to have the trucks fully outfitted within six months. The LDW systems will be installed at 10 of Old Dominion's 178 service center facilities located across the country.

"Installing the Lane Departure Warning system in our fleet of trucks gives us the ability to be proactive instead of reactive," said Brian Stoddard, vice president of safety and personnel for Old Dominion. "With safety remaining a top priority for our company, we are confident the decision to install this technology will prove to be an effective means of preventing accidents."

Based in Thomasville, North Carolina, Old Dominion (www.odfl.com) offers an array of innovative products and services and provides complete nationwide coverage within the Southeast, South Central, Northeast, Midwest and West regions of the country, including 37 states with 100 percent full-state coverage and international services around the globe.

The decision by Old Dominion to make Iteris' LDW technology standard on its trucks came after the company tested five units over the course of two years. In addition to superior field test performance, Old Dominion received extremely positive feedback on the system from its truck drivers. The company becomes the 9th major fleet in the past six months to make Iteris' LDW system standard on its trucks.

"We're thrilled about Old Dominion's decision to install our LDW system as standard equipment on its trucks," said Bill Patrolia, director of truck sales for Iteris. "They are the first of what we hope is many LTL carriers to install our technology. Based on the positive results from another fleet that recently recognized a 65 percent decrease in lane departure-related accidents, we are confident Old Dominion will also experience a significant decrease in its lane departure-related accidents."

Iteris' LDW system was the first-of-its-kind to be deployed in the commercial truck and passenger car markets and it still remains the only vision-based system in mass production in the U.S. and Europe. Over 24,000 LDW systems have been sold for commercial truck platforms in the U.S. and Europe with an estimated two billion miles traveled per year. In the U.S., with the addition of Old Dominion, there are currently 35 fleets specifying Iteris' LDW system with a combined fleet size of 18,600 trucks and another 52 fleets with approximately 100,000 trucks conducting field tests.
