International Automotive Engineering Services to Compete for the Development of Innovative High-Safety Integrated Monocoque Chassis Of OBVIO ! Ethanol and Electric High-Performance Microsport Urban Cars

OBVIO ! Automotoveiculos S.A. announced that PES - Porsche Engineering Services, Lotus Engineering Services, EDAG, IVM-Edscha and ISIS Engineering are among those selected and invited to present proposals for OBVIO ! 828 and 012 automotive engineering development projects.

From prototype concept all the way to series production, OBVIO ! expects one of these renowned engineering services to achieve the best engineering development and applications challenge to exceed the DOT/EPA, European Community and Japan safety standards for its high performance ethanol and electric urban cars designed for three passengers.

"The engineering service will have a completely different approach, since 85 percent of the parts of the cars are immediately available on the shelves of the Brasilian suppliers," says OBVIO ! engineer consultant Carlos Hilgert.

The high safety Monocoque Chassis uses the "Niess Elliptical Survival Rings" which allows the chassis to function as three-passenger safety cell, designed to distribute any impact throughout the structure of the vehicle. This technology was developed and patented by the Aeronautical Engineer Sir Marc Willian Niess and is under development by MVC-Marcopolo Company in Brasil, together with PPE-Pole de Plasturgie D`Est in France and GE Plastics in USA, Germany and Brasil.

OBVIO ! will be exclusively available in the USA through a partnership with publicly owned auto distributor ZAP (NYSE Arca: ZP) (http://www.zapworld.com). This would be the first Brazilian-owned automobile manufacturer to export its 100% outsourcing vehicles to North America.
