National(R) Wheel End Components Introduces Premium Through-Hardened Roller Bearings for Heavy-Duty Trailers

SOUTHFIELD, Mich.--June 26, 2006--A new line of premium "through-hardened" heavy-duty tapered roller bearings for commercial trailers has been introduced by Federal-Mogul Corporation's (OTCBB:FDMLQ) aftermarket brand, National Wheel End Components. The national brand continues to be a leader in wheel end technology for light and commercial vehicle applications worldwide.

The new wheel bearings from National Wheel End Components are engineered to deliver increased strength and dimensional stability, ensuring longer service life in the most demanding heavy-duty operating environments. Each bearing combines best-in-class materials and ultra-precise design and manufacturing tolerances. These bearings are manufactured to deliver the exact fit, performance and durability preferred by today's fleets.

"In recent years commercial vehicle OEMs have shifted their preference to premium 'through-hardened' bearings. Although there are varying degrees of quality in today's market, premium 'through-hardened' bearings from respected suppliers like Federal-Mogul's National Wheel End Components are capable of exceeding industry requirements," said Wendell Hays, senior product manager, Federal-Mogul. "What's most important is that we have delivered a premium 'through-hardened' tapered roller bearing at a very attainable cost. We are justifiably proud of this new product offering."

Combined with OE-style crowned raceways and rollers, a high-strength steel cage and matched rollers, the new bearings offer customers the ideal combination of performance and dependability, according to Hays.
