Audi's Entry into SUV Segment Rides on Goodyear Tires

AKRON, Ohio, June 14 -- The 2007 Audi Q7 is riding into new vehicle showrooms this month on Goodyear Eagle tires.

The Audi Q7 will be available with either a V6 or 350-horsepower V8 FSI (Direct Injection) engines. The V6 model comes equipped with Goodyear Eagle LS-2 tires in a 235/60R18 size, and the V6 Premium and V8 base and premium models ride on 265/50R19 Eagle LS-2 tires. Additionally, the new Audi Q7 has a summer tire option, the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 in a 275/45R20 size.

The Eagle LS-2 tire features an all-season tread design, which is optimized for quiet performance, and wide circumferential tread grooves to help channel water away. Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires have a directional tread pattern that features V-TRED technology and Aatrax tread compound.

A six-speed Tiptronic(R) automatic transmission and the latest generation of quattro(R) all-wheel drive sends power to the ground, where the Goodyear tires will help provide the grip for the luxury SUV.

"Being selected to supply high-performance tires for the highest- performance vehicles - those which represent the top-end image of brands - continues to be a proud honor for Goodyear," said Mike Parnell, Goodyear's vice president of original equipment sales.

Goodyear tires are original equipment on many vehicles from Acura, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Honda, Hummer, Infiniti, Isuzu, Jeep, Land Rover, Lexus, Mazda, Mercury, Nissan and Toyota. Traditionally, more new vehicles in North America are equipped with Goodyear tires than any other brand.
